Ifakara–Evenings in Neu Rum and Zams

23/4/2009: Ifakara–Evening for the Seelsorgeraum Pius - Neu Rum – Rum at the parish church of Neu Rum
It was a great day for all, who want to support our Association of the Friends of Ifakara Parish Partnership and make it known in Fr. Anno's new Seelsorgeraum Pius – Neu Rum – Rum. It will be remebered that the local parish councel had decidet same monthes agow to subscribe that parish partnership.
Now it is time to give our parishioners a first visual impression of Life around our partner parish at Ifakara. Again almost all our fellow travellers gathered, reinforced by other members of the association of the Seelsorgeraum Zams – Zammerberg – Schönwies.
At the outset Fr. Anno gave, illustrated by photographs, a general introduction. Here again the film was shown, that Wilfried Lentsch shot last year at Ifakara, supplementes by some travel reports by other participants. We were grateful, when Dr. Schennach allowed us a gimps into the world of the Hospital and his work there.
The evening ended with a buffet at Neu Rum parish centre. It offered an opportunity to meet some 40 parishoners, to foster interest in our partnership and last but not least to win some new “Friends”.
Will this sparte iquite a fire? It is up to us.
16/1/2009: Ifakara–Evening for the Seelsorgeraum Zams - Zammerberg - Schönwies at the parish church of Zams
After evening mass at St Andrews, a film was shown, shot by Wilfried Lentsch during last year´s visit to Ifakara. It is a highly informative film, inviting us to participate in the life and events of our African partner parish. Almost all participants of our tour reunites and recalled their African travel experiences – a wide bow as it were, including the feast at Katiunduka, small christian communities, the womens´movement or baptisms of adults and lively services in church.
At that evening there were about some 30 persons present who in mirth and openness took part in our journey around "half world".
It happend to be the last Ifakara-meeting for Fr. Anno in the Seelsorgeraum Zams – Zammerberg-Schönwies, and now it is up to members remaining there to maintain a lively and vigorous partnership with the parish of Ifakara.

Parish Fair in Zams

21/9/2008: Parish Fair in Zams
As every year, our association was present again at the Parish Fair in Zams. At our stall we sold roast chicken, Wiener schnitzel and fried sausages with sauerkraut. The proceeds went to the general association. The money will be used for the training of doctors and give poor children the chance to attend a primary school.
